Unlike many traditional western weddings, Balinese bride and grooms wear colourful wedding costumes with many attributes. Each of which holding its own philosophy. Their wedding costume is chosen according to the caste of the family. The typical material of a Balinese wedding costume is Songket, with Golden threads layers, the colour of the material is normally bright blue, yellow, orange or red which represents happiness and celebration. The luxurious Songket also displays how wealthy the family are and how high the level of the caste is. The higher the crown, the higher the caste of the family… There is so much to learn about balinese culture and to photograph part of this holy union is an honour and no doubt, one for the memory bank.
